I met Annie for the first time when I photographed her sister’s wedding at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in the fall of 2021. Her family was such a joy to meet and work with that I hoped that we’d cross paths again. You can imagine how happy I was when Annie reached out to me a year later, this time to photograph her own wedding! And when Annie told me that I was a non-negotiable part of her wedding plans, I was so honored I almost cried! It’s these heartfelt connections that make my work much more than just a job.
Annie and Andrew chose St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church to take their vows and Hill Crest Country Club, a family tradition, for their reception. Just like the couple, their wedding was chic and sophisticated, yet still had a loving warmth throughout. They chose elegant white for their theme, but added details that were a nod to their journey as a couple including their Aggie rings, a feather bowtie, custom face cards, and charming cowboy boots all hinting at the Texas alma mater where their love story began. They also had one of the cutest and most heartwarming approaches to “something blue” with some of Annie’s friends dressed in different shades of blue!
I was also lucky enough to photograph the couple’s engagement session, as well as their rehearsal dinner at the beautiful Johnstone-Sare Building. Annie and Andrew just blew me away! Taking pictures at their various wedding events felt like taking photos for a magazine! They’re so stylish, yet so grounded and easy-going. Their families extended such a warm welcome the entire time, making me feel like a part of their family too.
